Just a thought...
Is it so crazy to walk your dog regularly? Am I somehow....not right in the head?

I've been walking Cody every day (or nearly every day) since he was a puppy. That's what.....5? 6 years? I don't plan on stopping - it's one of the only things that keeps me sane. I get a little bit of exercise (as does he) and it gives me a chance to have some "me time".
Sure, I may pass the line of sanity every once in a while since I tend to walk him rain or shine, clear or storm...(a little rain never hurt anybody!) But....I mean, is it otherwise so odd?

When I run into people that live either in my neighborhood or along my walk pathway....whether I know them or not they tend to describe me as "that girl who walks the big black dog." Although more often than not I've had negative remarks. Especially from children, but children tend to be cruel with words so that's expected I guess. But sometimes what they say....you know they're hearing it from their parents.
"Is it true you walk your dog in the rain?"
Innocent enough remark....but when said in the correct tone of voice...it is clearly saying "you're a lunatic"
What can I say except "Well, it's true that sometimes when I'm walking I get caught in the rain" (it's not like I do it on purpose)

I've had stupid boys yell out that they love me or harrass me over and over again by asking what I'm listening to. I've had male high-schoolers scream obsenities at me as they zoom by in their souped up cars. And just the other day I had a grown man yell out of his truck at me. I'm not clear at what he said because he was on the other end of the road (not the other SIDE but the other END....shows how determined he was to yell at me)...but it was something like "___________ your dog!"
Asshole.
And people ask me why I'm leary when it comes to members of the male half of the human race (nearly all the jerks that bother me are male. Only once has it been a female, and she was probably 7 years old).

Sure, occasionally I get the kind remark. On the occasion that I run into someone who lives along my path they might say something like "Oh hey! I know you! You walk your dog past my house every day!"
And once a woman ran out her front door as I passed because she wanted to tell me what an inspiration I was to her by walkinng every day as she watched me lose weight over the years....that one really made me happy.

Oh well, that's enough posting for today.
I'm gonna go walk my dog.

yeah, I hear ya....
my sis went through a phase where she liked to yell out the car at people we passed....she didn't see it as being mean, but thought it was hilarious. Like I remember her barking out the window at someone walking their dog once. My mom and I yelled at her lol. But no matter how much we explained it to her, she just couldn't believe that the person might have been offended, annoyed, or even made angry. To her, it was just in good fun....like she was sharing a joke with this person.
I don't get people like that...thank God she doesn't do that anymore. I used to tell myself that people who yell to me when I'm walking probably just see it the way my sister did...but when they actually swear at me or make comments relating to the fact that I walk my dog......then I'm not so sure.
*shrug* Oh well, I guess the people in my neighborhood think I'm one of those nut jobs. I'll be moving soon enough, I'll just put up with it until then (although what will happen after that I don't know....)
